In the summer of 2019, I became involved with the Meet je stad! soldering workshops held in the Neudebieb in Utrecht. Due to corona distancing measures, I felt less effective as an instructor/facilitator, so I decided to create a soldering video manual so people could see how to solder tricky bits.
I created these two videos with the help of René van der Weerd, who runs HaHaHo, an electronics meetup that I attend semi-regularly.
For my development this was an interesting project as I had to learn more about correct soldering techniques, and how to convey information without doing a voice-over, as this would be annoying in a room with many people following the same video. The videos were created in Adobe Premiere Pro. Doing the soldering itself was actually quite tricky because I had to solder around the camera tripod so I couldn’t really see what I was doing.
